Welcome and thank you for your interest in our school. The Robert Fitzroy Academy is a school that thinks and dreams big for its pupils. Expectations are high for all who make up the RFA community and these standards are reflected in the wonderful physical environment we have developed to enable children to flourish within and beyond the school walls. We are committed to developing learners who are resilient, learners who are focused and learners who are aspirational in their goals; learners well prepared to be successful citizens of the 21st century.
The Robert Fitzroy Academy opened as a brand new primary academy in September 2012, and has since established itself as a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted inspections 2014 and 2018 read reports here). Starting a school ‘from scratch’ is both a great privilege and an enormous undertaking. Our £10million building refurbishment has turned imposing classic, historical buildings into a bright, modern and inspiring learning environment and we are continuing to invest in our setting – offering up-to-date technology and vibrant teaching and learning spaces for our pupils and staff. The school has worked hard during these formative years to establish its ethos and core values resulting in happy, inspiring learning environment where children are motivated to achieve and where staff are encouraged, supported and developed to continually strive for excellence.
I am incredibly proud to lead the team at The Robert Fitzroy Academy but believe that the school absolutely belongs to our community of children, staff and parents. I urge you to actively support and be involved in your school.
‘The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.’- Martin Luther King, Jr.
